JENNIFER und WIN KOWA
Jennifer und Win Kowa sind professionelle Musiker seit über 25 Jahren.
Sie waren Endorser für Roland, PAISTE, Slapper-Bässe und Sennheiser und tourten in den 80ern durch Europa.
Seit den 90ern sind KOWA gefragte Künstler für Easy-Listening- und World-Music.
Man findet die Musik von KOWA auf vielen Compilations wie Cafe de Mar, Cafe del Sol und Special-Editions
mit Künstlern wie Dido, Vangelis, Kitaro, Mike Oldfield, Andy Summers etc. auf der ganzen Welt.
Seit 1992 arbeiten sie auch als Werbekomponisten für internationale Kampagnen und bekamen dafür viele Auszeichnungen.
Mehrfach The Gold Comprix in London, The Golden Award of Montreux und sie waren Finalist of the Golden Globe in New York.
Im Juni 2007 veröffentlichen KOWA das Album GEMINI auf ihrem Label RougeRecords,
das von CD Baby, Portland USA, Apple itunes und vielen anderen Distributern weltweit vertrieben wird.
2008 wurde das Album SCORING TOOLS veröffentlicht.
KOWA bekam dafür den GrIndie Music Award von RadioIndy.
Der Award entspricht dem GRAMMY der Indy-Musik in USA.
Discovery Drive und African Moments, die in den 90ern entstanden sind,
wurden auf Grund grosser Resonanzen neu gemastert und 2010 wieder veröffentlicht.
HISTORY
Ihre musikalischen Anfänge waren deutsche Prog-Rock-Bands.
Jennifer war die Stimme von OCTOPUS. Sie war Gründungsmitglied und blieb der Band 7 Jahre treu.
Win war Gitarrist bei STRAIGHT SHOOTER, STREETMARK und OCTOPUS.
OCTOPUS war eine der treibenden Kräfte um das Festival Rock gegen Rechts in Frankfurt 1979.
Jennifer und Win gründen am 10.10.1982 mit dem Schlagzeuger Jürgen Blömke die Band

Sie produzieren 1983 die EP THE RADIO-active mit 6 Titeln auf rotem Vinyl
und Jennifer gründet das Label RougeRecords.
Ein Highlight ist neben vielen grossen Festivals mit Joe Cocker, Eric Burdon, Mother's Finest etc.
ein Auftritt beim 2. Haldern Pop Festival 1985 (siehe YouTube), der zur Folge hat,
das THE RADIO Headliner beim 3. Haldern Pop Festival 1986 wird.
Nach hunderten von Gigs entschlossen sich Jennifer und Win ein eigenes Studio zu bauen
um musikalisch andere Wege zu gehen und freier sein zu können.
Sie legen vorübergehend den Namen THE RADIO ab und produzieren die ersten
3 Alben, die bei IC Digit unter WIN KOWA erscheinen.
Im Oktober 2012 werden die alten Bänder von THE RADIO neu gemastert und erscheinen wieder bei CD Baby.

Jennifer and Win Kowa are professional musicians for more than 25 years.
They were Endorser for PAISTE, Roland and Sennheiser, touring with STREETMARK, OCTOPUS and THE RADIO
all over Europe in the eighties and became one of the interesting artists
for easy listening and world music over the last 15 years.
You can find the music of KOWA on many compilations like Cafe del Mar, Cafe del Sol and Special-Editions
with artists like Dido, Vangelis, Kitaro, Mike Oldfield, Andy Summers etc. all over the world.
At the same time KOWA went on producing commercials for international campaigns.
They achieved awards all over the world. The Gold Comprix in London, The Golden Award of Montreux
and where Finalist of the Golden Globe in New York.
In June 2007 KOWA released (Gemini) through their Label RougeRecords distributed by CD Baby, Portland USA.
Followed by: - Scoring Tools - Times of Television - Discovery Drive remastered - African Moments remastered.
In May 2008, KOWA received the GrIndie Music Award from RadioIndy for Scoring Tools
RadioIndy awards bands with their version of a Grammy (TM) Award, the GrIndie Music Award.
HISTORY
It all began with the German Prog-Rock-Band OCTOPUS.
Jennifer was one of the founder and the voice of OCTOPUS for 7 years.
Win was the guitarist of STRAIGHT SHOOTER - STREETMARK and OCTOPUS
Jennifer and Win founded the band THE RADIO in October 1982 with the drummer Jürgen Blömke.

They produced 1983 an EP with 6 Titels: "THE RADIO-active"
Jennifer founded the Label ROUGE RECORDS at the same time.
They where giging quite a lot and became one of the live bands in Germany.
They played festivals with Joe Cocker, Eric Burdon, Mother's Finest etc.
A gig at Haldern Pop Festival in 1985 was followed by being Headliner the next year at Haldern Pop.
The concert 1985 was taken on Video from Kurt Mitzkatis - GERMAN ROCK e.V. ,
which was found in summer 2012 by surprise.
